Details

Kagin-23 is the Seventh Issue GEORGIA GOLD half eagle obverse die, paired with the RUTHERF: reverse die. Of the three C. Bechtler 123-grain half eagles, the Kagin-23 is the most available, with about 40 known examples, most of which are XF or AU. Five coins have graded mint state; however, the finest example seen by Kagin and McCarthy resides in an AU58 holder.
