The National Bank of Scotland series of Scotland in the World Currency contains 38 distinct entries.

The National Bank of Scotland (NAT) was founded in Edinburgh in 1825. The bank was to have been named the National Bank of North Britain, but this plan was dropped after objections from the Bank of Scotland. It obtained a royal charter in 1831 and was the first Scottish bank to open a branch in London, in 1864. It acquired the Aberdeen Commercial Banking Company in 1833 and the Perth Union Bank in 1836.
