The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Commercial and Industrial Bank series of Mongolia in the World Currency contains 38 distinct entries with CPG® values between $9.00 and $3,000.00.

Prior to the establishment of the Commercial and Industrial Bank (CIB) on 2 June 1924, the country lacked its own currency and instead used livestock, pressed tea, and other commodities, including bars of silver. Banknotes of China, Great Britain, Japan, Russia, and the United States circulated unofficially throughout the country. On 22 February 1925, the Mongolian People’s Government gave the bank the right to issue currency.
