Details

The Kagin-8a was first identified in 2014 by Stuart Levine. It is likely the second variety of $20 struck by Wass Molitor, as it shares a reverse die with the Kagin-7, albeit in a later state, with cracks forming around the reverse periphery.

Obverse: Large Liberty Head with short neck and W.M. & Co. on diadem 1855, 13 stars around

Reverse: Federal Eagle, ribbon reading 900 THOUS., SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA TWENTY DOL.
