The genuineness of this pattern is unconfirmed by scholars and should be considered to be a likely counterfeit. Private restrike. Rusted dies.
Obverse: Die originally used to strike 1834 quarter dollars of the Browning-3 and -5 varieties. 1 in date and some dentils now strengthened.
Reverse: Quarter dollar die of contemporary style, but not known to have been used to strike quarter dollars in 1834.
