1914 One Cent MS RB Values

Details

The 1914 Lincoln cent is a relatively common coin in the circulated grades but becomes difficult to locate in the Gem uncirculated range and is the toughest Philly-minted issue of the series in the grade of MS67 or higher. It comes down to the fact that very few of these coins were saved in great quantity by collectors. That's the case for most of the early Lincoln cents that were minted in the period before albums, penny boards, and other types of coin displays encouraged collecting of these coins that most Americans of the time viewed as common, everyday coins not necessarily worthy of collecting.

Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.

Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
