1912 Matte Finish One Cent PR RB Values

Details

The 1912 matte proof Lincoln cent is a very scarce coin in terms of overall availability, as are all early matte proof Lincoln cents. Those who are unfamiliar with matte proofs may find it hard to distinguish these coins from their brilliant-uncirculated counterparts, though a closer look will reveal the differences. Matte proofs bear finer details, granular fields, and squared-off rims.

Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portait and the date postioned on the right side.

Reverse: Wheat ears flanking the words ONE CENT, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM on the top perimeter.
