1854 German Silver Pattern Cent PR J-157 Values

Details

1854 Cent. Experimental cent produced to test the concept of diameter and thickness, not to illustrate a proposed design. The alloys are not confirmed.

Obverse: Struck from a die created by reducing design elements of an 1854 silver dollar, but with the crossbar of the 4 not evident, thus appearing as “1851.” Certain other features are irregular and in some instances indistinct.

Reverse: New die with a heavy wreath, open at the top, enclosing 1 CENT.
