1852 U.S. Assay Office 10 Dollar Gold MS First Reverse, K-12 Values

Details

The Kagin-12 is the earlier of two known varieties of 1852 Assay Office $10. Both varieties share an obverse die, and like the Humbert $10s before them, the reverse dies seem not to have held up to use. Around 12 examples of the K-12 are known in private hands, with the single finest being a toned choice BU that was formerly a part of the Garrett collection. A choice AU example would qualify for the condition census.
