China. Latest Silver Bullion Coin Released Featuring Traditional Dragon Depiction
The People's Bank of China release their 2026-dated silver bullion coin focusing on a popular design.
Launched last year, the coins focus on folk customs and are issued as a commemorative coin which is also part of the on-going Traditional Culture Series. The Chinese Dragon silver coin project was initiated to create a focus with traditional Chinese characteristics, reflective cultural meanings while combining international aesthetic trends. Complementing the decades-long and popular Panda coins, the Dragon motif is designed to accommodate the interests of diversified needs of domestic and international collectors and investors.
Since last year’s launch, the 2025 edition has garnered significant attention from coin collectors and investors worldwide, promoting modern and legacy Chinese culture while at the same time providing a much-needed boost into the very competitive international bullion coin market.

The silver bullion quality commemorative coins are minted by Shenzhen Guobao Mint Company Limited on behalf of the People’s Bank of China. Designed by He Chun, The obverse side of the silver commemorative coin features the image of a traditional Chinese dragon in the style found on earlier coinage struck during the late 19th and early 20th century of the Imperial era, combined with auspicious cloud patterns. In the background is a linear pattern and to the right of the primary design is the denomination 10元. Along the upper left rim are the coins’ specifications, 31.104g Ag.999. The reverse side is designed by Wang Huming, and features an aerial view of a section of the Great Wall of China featuring towers and walkways. Above the primary design along the upper rim is the text 中 华 人 民 共 和 国 (People’s Republic of China) and below, the year of issue, 2026.
